Atty. Alvin Micah Gimelo, CEO of Sison-Gimelo Packaging Services, has successfully passed the bar exams. Atty. Micah is one of the 8,241 new lawyers, after nearly two years of no new lawyers as the bar exams were suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This latest bar exams is historic as it was the first exams that were digitized and localized, conducted during the Covid-19 pandemic. As reported by the Philippine Star (April 12, 2022), the 2020/21 bar exams were conducted physically in 31 local testing sites in 22 local government units across the country. In each testing site, strict Covid-19 protocols were implemented, including antigen test for examinees.
Out of the 11,790 applicants, only 11,402 finished the two-day test, while some were disqualified for violating policies of the Office of the Bar Chairperson and their Honor Code, according to the news report.
Aside from being the CEO and head of the Sison-Gimelo Packaging Services, Atty. Micah also serves as the Legal Director of the Sison-Gimelo Group and is part of the legal department of Solar Philippines.
